What’s Next

There's a television show called "The West Wing" that should be required viewing for every red blooded American citizen. At least the first three seasons anyway.

President Josiah (Jed) Bartlett from New Hampshire uses a phrase frequently that applies very well to our football team, that phrase is "What's Next".

There is a solid core coming back with Barton, Karcher, Parker, Covalt, Blair, Burnham and others. A lot of young players got thrown into the fire and will come out with valuable experience for them to build on next season.

The Seniors, man those Seniors...these guys...

I mean, come on...these frickin guys...

They were nothing but awesome in their career at KHS. While I wish we could keep watching them play football together for four more years, I'm even more excited to see what they will accomplish in the future.

Some may go on to play college football, some may play college basketball, some may go to college, some may enter the workforce, some may become professional golfers or firemen or police officers or whatever maybe there is a future sports blogger in the mix. Who knows. But one thing we do know is how appreciative we are of them.

They gave their parents, family, friends and fans memories that will last forever. More importantly, these Seniors gave each other a lifetime bond that for many was started back in fifth grade. When they come back for reunions and such, they will have stories that will be filled with all sorts of inside jokes that most parents are glad they don't know about. Their talent level from the last game they played in will have improved exponentially as will the opponents even though they haven't quite started to feel the effects of time and aging quite yet, if you know you know.

I, for one, would like to thank the 2022 KHS Jacket football team- especially the special group of Seniors- for an outstanding season that will always hold a special place in this old man's heart.

And I also can't wait for the answer of...
