One Down, Two To Go

Well the Jackets started the Blundell interim HC era with a convincing win over, Aw hell. It doesn't matter who they played.

What matters is that they won and stayed strong for four quarters which was exactly what they needed and what the doctor ordered.

With Coach Myers being placed on leave, there were some questions as to how the team would perform but if tonight was any indication Jacket fans should be looking forward to the next two weeks. While the opposition won't be quite as lax that they experienced tonight, it won't be too much tougher either.

Earlier today, the SofaKing Brain Trust brought fan favorite, Porterhouse, out of hiatus and he addressed the team giving a motivational moment. Telling them that today could be two things:

One day of playing hard, or;

Day one of proving all the doubters wrong and keeping the consecutive district streak alive.

The crowd was supportive of the team, as always, but tonight had a different feeling due to the events that transpired earlier this week.

Not only was tonight "day one" of a new season for the team on the field, but it will also be day one of a new season for Kingfisher football off the field. Tonight the Jackets stood proud and let the world know that Kingfisher football is bigger than what certain individuals claim it to be.
