I had the opportunity to sit down with Tristun Burnham after the destruction of MSM. For those who don't know, TB is a multi-talented Senior that approaches seemingly any situation with confidence and a smile.

Porterhouse: Tristun, thanks for giving me some time. I really appreciate it.

TB: Absolutely, thanks for having me.

PH: This is the Senior season for you, the number of times that you will be suiting up for the Jackets gets smaller every week. You've been around some pretty big games and moments, what would you say is your favorite memory so far of being a member of the Jacket football team?

TB: My favorite memory so far definitely has to be the touchdown catch against weatherford this year when we needed it. I felt like i was able to do my part and help us come out with the W.

PH: I can tell you that the stands were shaking after that play. Certainly it will be one that I will remember as well. What sort of goals have you set for yourself and the team?

TB: My goals for the season are just for me to get better every day. As a team obviously bringing home that gold ball is the ultimate goal.

PH: I've got to tell you, man. Every Senior I've spoken with so far has the same team goal. When you get everyone on the same page as far as what you want to accomplish, crazy things can happen in a good way. Especially if they have the goal to get better every day. That gives me chills and excites me even more for Friday night.

How about pregame meals or superstitions? Got any favorites there?

TB: My favorite team meal has been the Shed located at 1505 S Main in Kingfisher- great food, great friends, great times. The chicken tenders are money. I don’t really have any superstitious before games.

PH: That is a great place to eat, I'll have to agree with that. I think they have the best catfish this side of Opelousas, AL.

This being your Senior year, what will you remember or miss most when football is done?

TB: I will definitely miss the feeling of being a part of something bigger about football. It is a great feeling to know that guys are depending on you to do your job. Especially when you are able to pull it off. I also think hearing coach Ellis say “4 yards men” will stick with me long after high school.

PH: I kind of like that saying as well. I think it means to keep your goals short and measurable all while achieving a bigger goal. What are your plans for after high school?

TB: I am really undecided on what I want to do after highschool. Hopefully I can go play golf and continue that aspect of my life at a good school.

PH: Golf is one of your many talents. I've seen you out on the course quite a bit and seen some results of your tournaments, you're a pretty good golfer. What's your best score? Ever had a hole in one?

TB: My best golf score is a 62 at Kingfisher's golf course. I haven’t been lucky enough to have a hole in one but hopefully it’s coming soon.

PH: You have quite a few teammates that enjoy hitting the links as well, if you could play anywhere and have three teammates join you, where would it be and who would you take along?

TB: My dream golf course has to be Augusta National golf course in Georgia. I’d definitely bring Jax, Blake, and Noah. Those guys are always a good time on the golf course.

PH: Those guys are a good time wherever you go but that would be a great trip.

Another one of your talents is working out. You have spent quite a bit of time in the gym working out. How much can you bench and squat?

TB: My max bench is 285lbs. Squat is a little more disappointing with it only being 365lbs.

PH: Nothing disappointing about those numbers at all. They are quite impressive actually. So what are some of your other talents? Are you also a chef or country/western singer or something?

TB: Haha, no nothing like that. Dallen Barton would be the one to form the country boy band. Any time I’m around that guy he is singing old western songs. I’ve tried to get him to branch out in his taste in music but he will never change from his country ways.

PH: I think Barton might be mentioned in every interview I've done so far. I need to sit down with him sometime.

Tristun, that's all I've got. I really appreciate you taking the time to visit with me and I wish you a very successful and healthy senior season and I hope you walk off the field carrying that gold ball.

TB: It's been my pleasure and carrying that gold ball out would definitely be the icing on the cake.

Keep an eye out for all the festivities this week as your Jackets celebrate homecoming versus the Mannford Pirates Friday night.
