I was fortunate enough to catch up with Cade Cooper following his first game back with the Jackets. His name was called quite frequently during the game as he contributed heavily on the defensive side of the ball.

Murray Pageviews: Cade, thanks for sitting down with me today. I'm glad to see you back on the field.

Cade Cooper: No problem, I'm glad to do it and it was good to be back.

MP: Ok, this is it, your senior year. Have you set any goals for yourself or the team?

CC: Personally, I just want to get back to where I was last season and this summer. As far as team goals, it would have to be winning the State Championship.

MP: You guys have as good of a chance as anyone, just need to get all the pieces of the puzzle put together and I think good things will happen. How did you prepare for the season before you hurt your foot?

CC: I worked out hard at Summer Pride and I did a lot of running to get ready.

MP: There are some pretty good games on the schedule this year, is there a game that you have circled as a big game for you?

CC: They are all big games to me and I really plan to leave it all out on the field in every game but to say what I'm excited for would be the playoffs. It's a fun atmosphere.

MP: How about pregame meals? Got a favorite there?

CC: They do a great job at The Shed located at 1505 S. Main in Kingfisher. Great food, great friends, great times.

MP: What do you do when you aren't playing or practicing football?

CC: I'm an outdoors guy. I like to hunt and fish.

MP: If you were able to win a duck hunting trip with two members of the Duck Dynasty crew, who would you choose and what two teammates would you take with you?

CC: I'd choose Si and Jase and from the team I'd choose Wrigley (Kennedy) and Kyle (Borelli).

MP: You have quite a group of teammates who have many different talents and interests. Which of your teammates is most likely to run away and join the circus?

CC: Aaron (Delatorre) because he is really good with his feet and he could do some juggling or something.

MP: That is quite the talent. Most coaches use the same phrase over and over again, which of your coaches have a phrase that you will always remember?

CC: Coach Callins calls people "Country Craigs" all the time. That's probably going to be the one that sticks with me.

MP: Country Craigs? Should I even ask?

CC: Man, I don't even know.

MP: I'll leave it at that then. Cade, I appreciate your time and I want to wish you a great and healthy senior season. Good luck to you and your teammates and I hope you achieve all your goals.

CC: You're welcome and thank you.

Check out Cade and the Jackets this Friday night on the road at Mt. St. Mary.
