Scouting McLoud

Your Jackets travel to McLoud this Friday night before hosting North Rock Creek next week.  I looked and found that it is 14.5 miles from McLoud to NRC.  Now, West of I-35, we like to do this thing called math.  Here’s an example of how math can be used to determine the correlation between miles and points scored.

Take the distance from McLoud to NRC (14.5) and multiply by total number of TD’s by Jax (6).  Add the number of QB sacks on McLoud’s #6 (8) and then multiply by the number of INT’sby Kingfisher DB’s (5).  Finally subtract the Total rushing yards by The Jackets (475) and you will get the total combined score for McLoud & NRC against the Jackets.  You can check your work by multiplying the number you get by the total number of teeth in the home team stands this Friday.

Now that we’ve had our math lesson, let’s dive into scouting the Redskins.

1. OL #50 – On the cover, this kid looks like a player, and he is for about 4 to 5 plays a game.  You can tell he is all about making recruiting videos, because when he sees an opportunity to pancake a kid ½ his size, he does it.  The rest of the game he acts like his job is done if he gets the ball to the QB (he’s the center).  The rest of the OL is as soft as theCharmin Ultra Soft that John Moxon wipes his butt with.

IN SUMMARY:  NOT A THREAT

2. QB #6 -   This poor kid has no chance with the guys he has protecting him (see #1 above).  From what I could see, he wants to throw deep at least 80% of the time but rarely has time, so he just heaves it deep and hopes someone on his team gets to it.  On the rare occasion he gets enough time to set his feet on a throw, one of three things happen.

a. He is so inaccurate, he misses his target,

b. His gets it close enough to his WR’s skillets and they drop it, or

c. He throws into triple coverage and it’s picked off.

IN SUMMARY:  NOT A THREAT

3. RB #21 – So, I watched the film on these guys knowing their RB had committed to the US Naval Academy without knowing his number.  Well, as I watched, I assumed it was #7, since he was the RB in on the majority of the offensive snaps.  It was later that I found out that it is in fact #21 who is the Navy commit.  I had to go back and watch the film again, because I had not made one note on this guy.  After watching again, I still do not have a note on this guy. He is rarely in the game.  He must have an uncle on the Navy coaching staff because I don’t see it.

IN SUMMARY:  NOT A THREAT

4. RB #7 – This guy is the one in most of the time.  If you read #1 above again, you will see where this is going.  He doesn’t have much of a chance.  I can remember one play where a couple Mannford D-Lineman tripped over each other and he found a gap for a long TD run.  Once he got past the line, he outran the Mannford secondary (I know, I said Mannford, but give him a break, he doesn’t know the difference).  Other than that one play, he was being hit in the backfield as soon as he received the ball.

IN SUMMARY:  NOT A THREAT

It's tough to watch folks, seriously. So much so that the picture the head coach has on his Twitter page (what High School head coach has a Twitter page anyway) is of his back. He can't even watch.
