Anadarko Warriors

Good afternoon Sofies.  This week your Jackets travel South to visit Anadarko, for what I presume will be their Senior Night.  Now, there is a chance of a few sprinkles on Friday, so the game has been moved up to Thursday night.  I have not been unable to confirm if this was done to avoid the chance of mud getting on the coach’s purple wind pants or the fear of the officials getting wet and the visitors being able to see their purple t-shirts through the white stripes on their referee costumes.  

Like I mentioned above, it will be Senior Night for the Warriors.  If Max Preps has it right, you better bring your flask, a bucket of popcorn and a soft cushion.  According to their site, The Warriors have 21, you heard me correct, TWENTY-ONE SENIORS!!!  If they want it to be over with in time to kickoff at 7:00, they’ll have to start that ceremony at Noon.  

Enough with that, let’s get to the expert insight that you are paying $9.99 per month to receive….

The first place I went to pick up some info was the Anadarko @ Metro Christian game.  At the end of 1 quarter the score was Metro 35 Anadarko 0.  That should tell you enough, right?  Well, I have more.  The score was not indicative of the ass whipping that was taking place.  I didn’t count exactly, but Metro had only run like 6 or 8 offensive plays to get that 35 points when I decided I had seen enough.  I thought, well, Metro is really good, so I should give them the benefit of the doubt and watch them against a lesser opponent.  You don’t get much “lesser of an opponent” than MSM, so I watched Anadarko @ MSM – same story.  The little guys MSM called linemen were in the backfield all night long.

Darko Offense:  The O-Line is huge but is also slow and wears down easily.  I doubt Walter Payton could find a hole in this line.  I expect the Jackets to be able to put pressure on the QB early and often.  They are a run heavy offense, so we should be able to crowd the line of scrimmage and wear them down quickly.  When they do try to pass the ball, #15 rarely has time to sit in the pocket, so he is usually moving around when he throws and is pretty inaccurate, so I can also see several picks from the secondary.  Oh, and I counted 5 bad snaps (not sure if it was the center or QB’s fault), but there is a definite lack of rhythm between those two.

Darko Defense:  As I mentioned earlier, the defense only played about 6 or 8 plays against Metro (and gave up 35 points), so most of my research had to be from the MSM game.  If you have been able to witness the MSM offense this year, you will know that their line averages about 5’6 & 140 lbs.  Well, those cute wittle MSM linemen were creating HUGE holes between the HUGE defensive linemen of Anadarko.  I watched about a quarter of this game as well, and I’ll bet they averaged 6 to 8 yards per carry.  When I equate those numbers to what our line and backs should be able to do, I feel the Jackets should have at least 200 yards rushing on the night.

Overall:  With the lack of consistency by the Warriors on both sides of the ball, your Jackets should not have too much trouble wrapping up a 3rd place finish in the district and get prepared to go win a road game in Southern Oklahoma next week.

Prediction:  KINGFISHER 34.5 – ANADARKO 0
