3A-1
This district is pretty much finalized. The only thing left to determine is the order of the 3rd & 4th place teams. Kingfisher & Anadarko are tied in the standings and play each other week 10, which opened at Kingfisher -34.5.
1. Metro Christian
2. Perkins (football team – not restaurant)
3. Winner of Kingfisher (-34.5) @ Anadarko
4. Loser of Kingfisher @ Anadarko (+34.5)
3A-2
This district is way more complicated, which is what you get when you combine a private school with 5 mediocre teams and two dumpster fires. Heritage Hall is sitting at 6-0 and should win the district, but week 10 opponent, Marlow is sitting at 5-1 and could win the district with a win over the Chargers. That’s not all, the next 4 teams also still have a chance at the playoffs. They have taken turns beating each other all year, so now it’s a congested mess. If Sulphur beats Plainview, both teams from game 3 below are eliminated and the four playoff teams will be from games 1 and 2.
See the week 10 schedules & scenarios below.
WEEK 10 SCHEDULE:
1. Heritage Hall (6-0) @ Marlow (5-1)
2. Lone Grove (4-2) @ Pauls Valley (4-2)
3. Sulphur (2-4) @ Plainview (3-3)
Scenarios:
If Heritage Hall, Lone Grove & Plainview win
1. Heritage Hall
2. Lone Grove
3. Marlow
4. Pauls Valley
If Heritage Hall, Pauls Valley & Plainview win
1. Heritage Hall
2. Marlow
3. Pauls Valley
4. Plainview (Lone Grove here if Sulphur beats Plainview)
If Marlow, Lone Grove & Plainview win
1. Marlow
2. Heritage Hall
3. Lone Grove
4. Pauls Valley
If Marlow, Pauls Valley & Plainview win
1. Marlow
2. Heritage Hall
3. Pauls Valley
4. Plainview (Lone Grove here if Sulphur beats Plainview)
3A-3
Lincoln Christian has this district locked up. Muldrow, Berryhill & Stigler have all clinched playoff spots, but all have 2 L’s each, so could finish in any order. Below, you will see my projected finish.
1. Lincoln Christian
2. Stigler
3. Muldrow
4. Berryhill
3A-4
Verdigris & Cascia Hall are tied record wise at the top (5-1), but Verdigris won the head-to-head, so they have locked up the one spot. There is a VERY SMALL chance that Jay could sneak in the back door if they can manage to beat Holland Hall in Week 10, which would knock Holland Hall out of the playoffs. I’m pretty certain that this order is locked up, but crazier things have happened. I was hoping for a 4th place finish for Holland Hall, since that would have put them in a 1st round matchup with Lincoln Christian, but it doesn’t look like that can happen.
1. Verdigris
2. Cascia Hall
3. Holland Hall
4. Bristow
In summary, most of the field is set. All that is undecided is where the feathers will land after the pillow fight in District 2. Whichever feather lands in the #2 spot is most likely where your beloved Jackets will travel week 1 of the playoffs. Once they are done taking care of business down there, they will most likely be traveling to Tulsa to shock the world and #1 (or #2 depending on which poll you look at) Lincoln Christian. See my projected bracket below. Note: An upset or two next Friday can change this entire bracket around, so check back next weekend for a finalized bracket and playoff preview.
