How Many Synonyms For Pathetic?

So I just finished watching the Jackets play against NRC. Hand up, I was not there and did not watch it live on Kingfishersports.tv brought to you by the Shed Restaurant located at 1505 S Main St in Kingfisher- good food, good friends, good times- and many other sponsors who we are extremely thankful for their generosity and support.
My ass was in a chair in the High Limit room taming some wild mustangs and feeding my degenerate addiction to gambling, came out ahead but enough about that.

Let's recap the game, shall we??

A quick search on the Google machine for the definition of pathetic gives you the above result, click the link for others if you're so inclined but I think that the definitions and synonyms are quite appropriate when describing last night's debacle.
Feeble and Pitiful
Perfect for the referee crew. They were constantly taking way too much time to discuss their calls and having to respot the ball, making it seem as though they had kind of an inkling of what to do, but were kind of just feeling it out and waiting for the reactions from the crowd and coaches.
Have you ever watched the Price is Right and they are playing the game where the contestant places prices on the items in hopes of guessing the correct one? The audience is yelling yes or no while the contestant look at them and slowly move their hand back and forth based on what they can hear in a feeble manner.
They appeared to not know what they were doing at all, which at this point of the season is quite pitiful. I get it, good crews are hard to find, especially when you boot one of the best crews in the state from your home games for silly reasons, but I digress. Even if these guys were new and inexperienced , which judging by the way some of them moved they definitely were not young, they should have seen enough games and glanced through the rule book enough to know how to properly place a holding call after a punt. And that was in the first quarter Sofies, it didn't get any better.
One guy had to be reminded what signal he makes for a good field goal.
It was bad. However, as you know, we don't lay blame on the referees. Our own Robin DaSpotlight would throw a flag and T us up for such behavior. Even though we are 100% right. Zebras must travel in packs or something.
Sorry and Pitiable
So NRC is a relatively new school. Many, if not all of their accomplishments will be followed with #firstever or #historymaking just because they don't have much to draw on. No fault of their own, good on them. It's akin to a baby taking their first steps or going bam-bam in the poddy. It's the first time they've done these things and they are very proud of their accomplishments, as they should be. I've heard the price of diapers is through the roof these days.
But as AD Jam loves to say, "Keep it Classy". I'm sure Porterhouse, our expert in all things classy and sophisticated, will reach out to our friends out East and give them a tip or two.

Seriously though, congrats for securing a playoff spot. It's a feat that you should be very proud of, I mean the Jackets have done it I believe up to 69 times in a row now, but they say the first time is the best time. I don't know who they are but context is always important when you throw out phrases and such but anyway, anyway back to the point. I've had a lot of coffee this morning so I could make it through the game.
My point is, in the sports world, you keep it classy by acting like you've been there before. I know I know, you say Commish, they HAVEN'T been there before. I know. I get it. Hopefully though, their elders (coaches, parents, siblings, etc) have been involved in securing victories in other situations and are somewhat aware of how to behave. Although watching the coaching staff jump and flail around in the last seconds makes me think they haven't, which is...sorry. Not sorry necessarily for their behavior, but rather making us, multiple time playoff qualifiers, feel sorry for them. Players were doing flips on the field after the game!
THEY PLANTED A FLAG AT MIDFIELD!
OF THEIR OWN FIELD!
Guys, good on you for watching highlights of how successful teams celebrate big wins but know where you are. Baker did it in the Horseshoe. In Columbus, OH. In the shadow of Archie Griffith, Woody Hayes and the ageless Kirk Herbstreit and many others. Y'all did it on your own two year old field that still hasn't had all the grass come up. Cmon man.
But anyway, it's over and done with. Lesson learned. Congratulations on your success and good luck in the playoffs. Basketball season is right around the corner.
As far as the Jackets performance goes, it would be too easy to say that the words in italics above are appropriate but Sofies, you know better than that.
The current Jacket squad is going through adversity and adjustments that no other team in KHS history has ever experienced. They can still punch their ticket to the playoffs next week to continue the streak. They didn't come out for this game with the same energy and intensity we saw last week. A possible explanation could be that the ineptitude of the referees took some wind out of their sails, but obviously it isn't the entire reason. Another could be that it was the first game that the weather was kind of cold and rainy which affected traction and grip on the ball. Could've been hoping that NRC was similar in talent to McLoud (NRC is better, not by much but they are better) and they thought they could just go through the motions.
Here's the real reason. I wasn't there or watching live to provide Positive Vibes.

I'll take the hit on this one, I've got big shoulders and can take it and it won't happen again. As said above this bunch of studs are going through things that no other has before and because of that we have to give them our full support and help keep the optimism alive. Last night is over and done (Thank the maker) and next week we get to honor and thank a great group of Seniors. I urge you to do all you can to make it to the game hopefully in person or at least watch it online.
They have poured blood, sweat and tears over their years here and they deserve our support, respect and gratitude.
Keep an eye out for a possible SofaKing event that night. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet some or all of The Brain Trust as well as a time for getting the energy ready to cheer on your Jacket Seniors
